John Mahony died of cholera while PoW in Thailand

The Age 07/09/1945 Roll of Honour tribute to John Mahony. educated at St. Thomas’s College, Clifton Hill. He was a keen sportsman, and played football for both Collingwood and Northcote prior to his enlistment.

Ancestry: When John Martin Mahony was born on July 15, 1915, in Victoria, Australia, his father, Jeremiah, was 32 and his mother, Norah, was 25. He had four brothers and two sisters. He died on July 17, 1943, in Thailand at the age of 28, and was buried there.
